About Samantha Przybylek

Hello all!  Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to learn more about both myself and my upcoming trip.  I am Samantha and have lived in Washington State my entire life.  I am a prospective nursing student pursuing my Bachelors of Science degree.  I one day plan on obtaining my maters degree and to specialize in pediatric oncology.  Ever since I was young I always knew that I wanted to work in the medical field.  There was never a doubt in my mind that I would do anything else.  When I was in the sixth grade I decided that I wanted to volunteer time in Africa specifically in a medical clinic and now I am working towards making that dream come true.

I was very active in High school, I volunteered at my local hospital, was on the honor society and participated in several extracurricular activities.  I was on the cheer squad for four years and played soccer for ten years.  I also sang in both the concert and jazz choir and played several different roles in many musical productions such as Grease and Oliver.  In addition to singing, I also play the piano, flute and piccolo, where I earned first chair for both the flute and piccolo.  I was also a student athletic trainer and learned  many things that I still use today while working in the medical field as a certified nursing assistant.  I have earned letters in all of these activities including Debate team where I not only competed in Debate competitions, I was a judge.

I compete in scholarship pageants that are specifically linked to the Miss America Scholarship Organization.  Right now I am the current Miss Moses Lake 2009 and was Miss Kitsap 2008.  Earning both of these titles have enabled me to join forces with many different organizations and help with their community service projects such as Habitat for Humanity, Harrison Hospital’s Mathis Guild and Festival of Trees where this past year I entered a tree to be auctioned off, and the Soroptomists where I helped create the “Apple Cup” for their fundraiser Bras for a Cause to raise money for breast cancer research.  Working with these organizations have been both educational and rewarding and now I am ready to spread my wings and help people on a greater scale.  I am ecstatic to travel to Tanzania in May and am counting down the days! Thank you again for taking the time to find out a little more about who I am, I hope you visit this site again soon!
